Layla Medina is a born and so far raised New Yorker who loves to hang out with her family and LOVES to run! At 5 years old she has already done close to 20 races. Starting her races at 2, she has done races in NYC, Berlin, and Arizona and runs the streets of NYC a few times a week with her mom and dad.
Layla also loves going to Kung Fu, Jujitsu, and hanging out with her friends in her neighborhood.
Layla ran Enders Project’s first annual “STILL HERE NYC” run in 2022 and this year is happy to be the featured writer for this year’s youth t-shirts!

What neighborhood do you live in?
East Harlem
What do you want to be when you grow up?
A singer, dancer, and a mommy and I will live in London.
What is your favorite memory so far growing up in NYC?
Going to the Yankee games with my family.
Who got you started in running?
My mom and dad.
Why do you like to run?
Because I can run fast.
What is your favorite season in NYC and why?
Winter because it snows sometimes.
Favorite food to eat in NYC?
Patsy’s Pizza
If you could make one wish come true what would it be?
I wish I can see the world.
What is something you see on the streets of New York every day?
Too many cars!
Is there anything you want to change about NYC?
Making the bad guys be good guys.
Describe yourself in a few words:
I’m a smart, kind, and loving girl.
Do you consider yourself an artist in any way?
Yes, I like all kinds of art like singing and drawing.
Is there a New Yorker you haven't met but would love to?
Aaron Judge!

I have run in London and Berlin and I can sing God Bless America. It’s one of my favorite songs. I like Taylor Swift too…
